The Governmental Affairs Group of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce is charged with government relations and promotion of the public policy positions of our local, state and federal branches of government. The Group also cultivates and strengthens relationships between the Chamber’s membership and elected and appointed officials across all levels of government – this includes the hosting of various initiatives and programs in South Florida, Tallahassee and Washington, D.C.

The Governmental Affairs Group is also involved in sponsorship of local events on current and public affairs. The Group works in conjunction with the Chamber’s substantive committees for the development of its State and Federal Legislative Packages on issues that impact the South Florida community as a business center, including but not limited to: transportation and infrastructure, healthcare, workforce development and retention, education, environment, insurance, growth management and smart urban development, disaster recovery/business continuity, economic development, tourism and free trade.

As a regional Chamber that promotes sustainable economic development in South Florida, one of the most important and direct ways to achieve this is through proactive and engaged advocacy, on behalf of the business community, with full participation of our membership.
