2007-2008 Program of Work
Conduct research to assess the impact of the creative industries currently in Miami-Dade County:
- Organize stakeholders’ roundtable event
- Investigate private sector funding sources
- Work with partner organizations and identified stakeholders to seek funding for a study of Miami-Dade County’s current creative industries’ resources, identifying sectors of those industries that are best positioned for further development
Identify and recruit individuals and businesses not currently active in creative industries:
- Organize networking events
- Conduct outreach campaign regarding the economic impact and importance of creative industries to Miami-Dade’s future economy and benchmark industries
- Enhance Chamber website and develop linkage to creative industries’ news content
- Encourage local government agencies to engage in the active and coordinated promotion of Miami-Dade’s creative industries through inbound and outbound national and international trade shows, etc.
Identify Miami-Dade’s competitive advantages to support, develop and attract creative industries:
- Develop topical agenda for inclusion in Chamber’s legislative packet
- Work to develop local “Creative Industries Advocates”
- Demonstrate the economic impact of the creative industries so that local, county and state agencies and businesses have a rationale for allocating resources to this effort
Provide a forum for identifying and addressing concerns that are unique to cultural institutions in Miami-Dade County:
- Develop and implement a plan to advocate for those issues that are identified
- Enlist the support of the media to create an awareness of the importance of the cultural community and its economic impact in Miami-Dade County

Ongoing Project
The Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce initiated a major audience development initiative, formally known as e-Arts Pass, to help develop increased ticket buying and participation of Miami-Dade's growing and diverse business community in arts and cultural events.
