2008-2009 Goals
- Convene, create, publish, market and advocate a strategic plan to address the myriad of educational issues -- from birth through lifelong learning -- to promote global competitiveness and the economic development of South Florida.
- Create and implement an advocacy plan, both short and long term (pre-legislative, during legislative and post-legislative session) that addresses the Children’s Trust, Amendment 8, Amendment 5 and other education issues.
- Create partnerships to support and advocate for business and education alliances.
- Present the 10th annual Jeanne Bellamy Scholarship and explore opportunities to expand other programs supporting education.

Secondary School Reform
The Secondary School Reform (SSR) Plan is a roadmap for substantively altering the educational experience of all middle and senior high school students in the District, to assure that future graduates have the skills that they will need to effectively compete in the new global workplace. It serves as the launching point to engage business and community leaders to re-invest in an invigorated, energized, rigorous public school system.
