2018 Top Entrepreneurial Awards Nomination Form

This awards program applauds South Florida’s innovative and top performing businesses and individuals; and celebrates Miami’s entrepreneurial spirit and rich cultural diversity. Applicants must satisfy the following criteria:

  • Must be a for-profit business located in South Florida.
    • If not headquartered in South Florida a subsidiary with a significant, demonstrated presence in South Florida may be considered.
  • Must be in business for more than three years.
  • Must meet the definition of an entrepreneur:
    • One that organizes, manages and assumes the risks of a business or enterprise.

Award Categories

TOP Business of the Year – Large (50 employees or more) -AND- Small (49 employees or less) -- Award recognizes a company that demonstrates exemplary overall business performance. Company is judged on demonstrated growth, consistency of quality products or services at competitive prices, and contributions to the growth and socio-economic development in their communities.

Community Outreach -- recognizes a business that proactively gives back through financial support, employee outreach and practical experience in terms of time and expertise, allowing charities, schools and community organizations to benefit from the resources of the business.

South Florida & Beyond -- recognizes a business that originated and remains headquartered in South Florida and that have been successful in growing their company or brand to outside markets, either nationally or internationally.

That’s So South Florida -- this company epitomizes the South Florida culture, flavor and/or diversity and has helped define the culture or helped expand it beyond the local borders. When you think of the brand you think South Florida.

Champion for Diversity & Inclusion -- recognizes the outstanding performance of a business that fosters and supports the growth of businesses and employees. The criteria for this award will be based on (a) the volume, consistency and quality of business opportunities granted to women and minorities; (b) the demonstrated commitment to the hiring, retention and promotion of women and minorities; (c) the demonstrated commitment to the pursuit of cultural diversity and inclusion in the community and workplace.

Executive of the Year -- recognizes an individual (VP or above) who has devoted time and energy to strengthen and transform the organization. The nominee must have been in the position for more than three years and have demonstrated vision and leadership over several years. This includes specific situations or initiatives where the nominee’s insight, discernment and ability to lead and inspire have guided his/her organization to a new level of growth, achievement and recognition.
