Sand in My Shoes Award®

The Sand In My Shoes Award® was established in 1981 and is the most prestigious award offered by the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce. Based on an editorial delivered by the late WTVJ Vice President and News Director, Ralph Renick, the award is presented to a community leaders who has made significant contributions to the South Florida area, demonstrating a deep love and commitment to this community as the best possible place in which to work and live.

HYPE Miami

HYPE AWARDS: ACKNOWLEDGING INNOVATION & ACHIEVEMENT AMONG YOUNG PROFESSIONALS

The awards, presented in the spring, recognize Miami-Dade's brightest young professionals who have demonstrated outstanding achievements.  The HYPE Miami® (Helping Young Professionals Engage) Awards were developed with the true young professional in mind.  All applicants must be under the age of 35, and have lived or worked or attended a university or college in Miami-Dade County for at least four consecutive years.  The Chamber strongly encourages the business community and its institutions to support their young professionals and their notable achievements.  As nominees, these young professional will also give their respective organization an opportunity to showcase their brand and talent.  Awards are presented in the following categories: Entrepreneur, Go Getter, Difference Maker, Rookie of the Year and Most Valuable Graduate (MVG).

The Technology Leaders of the Year Awards, presented in the spring, highlight individuals and organizations with extraordinary technological hands-on experience whose management of technology resources and/or technological innovations have made outstanding contributions to their organization and the community. NOVO AWARDS

The Nonprofit Business NOVO Awards are open to not-for-profit organizations and recognize programs that have made a difference in the lives of the people they serve, produce outcomes that exemplify innovative excellence, and feature best practices of not-for-profit businesses.  Awards are presented in two categories: nonprofits with a budget of $2 million and above, and those with a budget of less than $2million.

JEANNE BELLAMY SCHOLARSHIP

The Chamber's annual scholarship award is presented to a female, high school senior from a Miami-Dade County Public School who intends to pursue a degree in business.  The scholarship is named in honor of Jeanne Bellamy, who served as the Chamber's first female chairperson.  Bellamy's contributions during her term as chair, her on-going efforts on behalf of the community and her career in business, truly exemplify the spirit of this award.

South Florida “Good to Great” Awards®

SOUTH FLORIDA "GOOD TO GREAT" AWARDS®

The South Florida “Good to Great” Awards® program showcases businesses throughout the tri-county region that have achieved greatness in their mission and established themselves as industry leaders.

The awards, presented during the Chamber’s annual Goals Conference, are open to all for-profit businesses, both public and private, that are headquartered in Miami-Dade, Broward or Palm Beach counties and show a pattern of transitioning from solid performance to great performance over a four-year period while demonstrating proven leadership and a solid workforce base. Award categories are:

R.E.A.L. AWARDS

 

Who are South Florida's Real Estate Achievers and Leaders? They are individuals, institutions, professionals, students or volunteers in the real estate profession who have achieved success in their respective fields during the previous year while also being leaders in the community. Candidates may be self-nominated and may include any professional in the real estate industry including realtors, brokers, developers, architects, attorneys, lenders, accountants, consultants or anyone involved in the real estate industry that meets the criteria for one or more of the award categories whose projects or transactions must be based in South Florida. Nominees do not need to be members of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce to apply. All candidates will be judged based on achievements in their individual category as well as contributions or service to the community.

HENRY M. FLAGLER AWARD FOR VISIONARY LEADERSHIP

Henry M. Flagler had the vision and leadership to see the great potential of what would become Miami. The Henry M. Flagler Award for Visionary Leadership is presented during the Chamber's annual Goals Conference to an individual who, in the spirit of Henry Flagler, advances our community because of their vision and leadership.

MILITARY SERVICE PERSON OF THE YEAR AWARDS

SPORTS HALL OF CHAMPIONS

The Sports Hall of Champions honor individuals for the recognition and esteem they have brought to themselves and our community through their achievements in and contributions to sports.

To be eligible for consideration an individual must have gained or maintained fame in sports as a player, coach or executive; made contributions to the betterment of sports in the South Florida community; and been born in South Florida or participated in sports locally and achieved recognition in the community.

JULIA TUTTLE AWARD FOR COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT AND CORPORATE CITIZENSHIP

The Julia Tuttle Award for Community Involvement and Corporate Citizenship was established in 1986 by the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce to recognize a for-profit business whose South Florida corporate giving program and outreach policy is a role model for all to follow. The annual award singles out a company whose corporate philosophy and outreach to the not-for-profit sector epitomizes the best in corporate community involvement.
