The Bermuda Business Development Agency visited the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce on December 5th

The group included David Burt, Bermuda’s Premier (the equivalent of Prime Minister), Economic Development Minister Jamahl Simmons and leading members of the Bermuda business community. Bermudan businesses already have a big footprint in South Florida: their reinsurance industry (one of the largest in the world) is expected to cover at least $15 billion in losses from Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Harvey. That’s on top of the more than $35 billion Bermuda’s reinsurers have paid out for American disaster recovery since 2001, including right here in Miami
