Message From The Chair

As Chairman of the Chamber’s International Business Development Group, I can personally attest to the immeasurable opportunities that you and your business will experience in the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce.  As a Chamber member you and your company will have the opportunity to actively participate in all of the Chamber’s initiatives and programs.

Let me take a moment to show you how the International Business Group will benefit your company.  Our mission is to create a working platform to help facilitate business.  This is being accomplished with the help of highly talented individuals who have a keen understanding of international business.

• Walter A. Loy, Commercial Real Estate Broker, Esslinger Wooten Maxwell Realtors, chairs the Consular Corps Committee.  This committee will support all other committees with their expert advice and counsel, in addition to having its own program for the most synergistic opportunities of mutual support by the Consul Generals and the Chamber.

• Patricia Hernandez, Attorney, Holland & Knight, chairs the new Cuba Committee. This Committee is dedicated to being the resource for Cuba-related news and information for the Chamber's membership.  Through the knowledge, experience and resources of the Cuba Committee's members, this committee is uniquely positioned to provide insight to the Chamber's members into the ongoing situation in Cuba and how it affects our community. 

• Dr. Jerry Haar, Associate Director of FIU’s Knight Ridder Center for Excellence in Management chairs Global Business Development.  This group assists company’s identity business opportunities in emerging markets and sectors; provides an “International Tool Box”; identifies the impact of inward foreign investments; and create a calendar of international events.

• Olga Ramudo, President of Express Travel USA, chairs Global Business Initiatives.  This group identifies industries and geographic locations for outbound missions, partners with local organization for joint initiatives; and informs the community of the outcomes of GMCC.

• Jami Reyes, Partner of Gordon Reyes & Co, chairs the International Marketing Committee.  This committee will be responsible for developing international partnership agreements increasing international memberships, and protocol, working closely with the Consular Corps.

• Lexi Segré, Principal of Axiss Advertising & Design, chairs the Leadership Americas. This group identifies local leaders by industry sector; develops mentoring programs, relationship building and cultural diversity training supported by the Consular Corps.

The Chamber is the most valuable business resource in Miami-Dade County, and I am confident that you will soon recognize the positive impact Chamber membership has for your business
