Consular & Trade Representatives Program

Description

During a reception for the Consular Corps and Foreign Trade Officials in Miami the Chamber held a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing Ceremony with Chamber Chair Phillis Oeters; Ambassador Maria Cristina Barrios Almazor, Consul General, Consulate General of Spain; Fernando Perez-Hickman, President, Spain-U.S. Chamber of Commerce; and Greater Miami Chamber President/CEO Barry E. Johnson

The Consular & Trade Representatives outreach program is designed to better integrate Consuls General and Foreign Trade Representatives into the South Florida business community. They are recognized as Trustees of the Greater Miami Chamber offering a creative solution towards integrating the foreign dignitaries to the community which has resulted in greater rapport, cultural exchange and trade relations amongst participants.

Consuls General and Trade Representatives are included in all Trustee member activities and communications; receive invitations to attend the monthly Trustee Luncheon; and new members are introduced to the Chamber’s Board of Directors. Additionally, the Chamber hosts events in their honor as well as various educational and networking programs.

The program is made possible by Greater Miami Chamber members who underwrite the Consular & Trade Representatives membership.
