About The Program
Leadership Miami® offers participants the opportunity to share an intensive learning experience that focuses on community issues and leadership skills through a planned process of lectures, seminars, small group discussions, and leadership curriculum developed in partnership with local universities.
One of the key purposes of Leadership Miami® is to prepare the next generation of Miamians to address vital issues affecting Miami-Dade County and meet future challenges. The program’s dynamic format stimulates animated and critical discussions among participants and guest speakers.

Leadership Miami® Class 44 Community Projects
Meet the Teams
TEAM 1: IGNITE
Leadership Miami’s Team Ignite is partnering with CARE Elementary to nurture its students’ love of reading and learning. Team Ignite and its supporters will help more than 140 enthusiastic students in PreK4 through grade 5 grow as readers by building and stocking a library in each of CARE Elementary’s classrooms and gifting each student his or her own home library of 10 age-appropriate books. Building on CARE Elementary’s remarkable work in raising students’ reading proficiency levels, Team Ignite’s goal is to bring Miami one step closer to building a life of literacy that is only possible with books. TEAM 2: SPARK2SERVE
Be the Change South Florida is tackling food insecurity and food waste by gathering and distributing donated food and creating free, ready to eat meals to be distributed across our community. Spark2Serve will support the efforts of Be The Change by supporting the establishment of their new warehouse which will house donated goods and serve as a resource center for those in need of food or other assistance programs.
TEAM 3: DREAM BRIGHT NOW
Together for Children (TFC) is a neighborhood-driven coalition with the goal of breaking the cycle of youth violence in Miami-Dade County by identifying at-risk youth and providing them and their family with targeted services and support. Dream Bright Now is partnering with TFC to organize, fund, and hold TFC’s first, countywide, youth summit with workshops, activities, services, and resources critical to adolescents’ emotional, personal, and professional well-being, which will empower our at-risk youth towards future success. This large, countywide summit will set precedent for future events and seeks to accommodate about 500 students from Miami-Dade County. Join us and help us spread the DREAM.
TEAM 4: MAGIC4MIAMI
Magic4Miami is a team of leaders united with Chapman Partnership to renovate its mother and baby dorm. Our purpose is to support new and expecting mothers experiencing homelessness by providing safe and comfortable living space and the necessary resources for everyday life while they connect with their babies. Magic4Miami will renovate the mother and baby dorm by designing a new common area and adding personal storage space, cribs, toddler beds, and a resident-inspired mural to make the space feel like home while the mothers and babies are at Chapman.
TEAM 5: 30(THRIV)5
30(THRIV)5 is committed to supporting our Miami-Dade community by providing it with the resources to thrive. We are thrilled to partner with the New Horizons Community Mental Health Center to completely renovate their hybrid classroom to give youth in the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) system a place to learn, grow, collaborate, and advance. Our goal is for this space to give an opportunity to the kids to achieve and maintain a lifestyle free of crime and move into contributing roles in society through access to new and modern technology and an interactive recreational space.
