HR/Professional Development Committee

Recognizing that businesses, regardless of size, are impacted by the dynamics of human resources challenges and opportunities, the Human Resources & Professional Development Committee is committed to ensuring organizations thrive in a rapidly evolving global landscape. The committee focuses on tracking trends and finding solutions that keep Chamber members at the forefront of innovations in talent acquisition, talent management, and talent development.

Whether you have one employee or one thousand, your business is impacted by a myriad of human resources issues and opportunities. Some of these include attracting, retaining, and developing talent for the success of the organization to stay ahead of a rapidly evolving global society. The Human Resources & Professional Development Committee is dedicated to supporting, educating and training Chamber members in all aspects of human resources and professional development, regardless of the organization's size or structure.  The committee provides a dynamic forum for networking, education and meaningful conversations on relevant HR topics, with the aim of cultivating knowledgeable, successful and passionate HR professionals who drive their organizations forward.  Objectives include presenting seminars on cutting-edge employment-related issues and advocating on behalf of human resources causes of interest to the business community' partnering with GMCC committees to leverage expertise of varying degrees of HR knowledge and legal expertise, discussing issues relevant to the local community; and adding value to the GMCC membership while enhancing the Chamber's brand through delivery of quality services and programming.   

Participation in the Human Resources and Professional Development Committee is open to all Greater Miami Chamber members in good standing. Members include businesses and organizations with strong HR leadership, organizations with no HR support whatsoever, business professionals, and key stakeholders in the human resources and employee professional development arena.

2024-2025 HUMAN RESOURCES & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE GOALS

  • Recruit new (10) mid to senior level Human Resources Professionals to join the committee .
  • Act as a resource for small businesses by hosting (4) Human Resources webinars focused on topics and trends in the HR industry, such as reskilling and upskilling workforce.
  • Host 18th annual HR Insights Summit and increase attendance by 10%.
  • Partner with the Education & Workforce Development Committee to develop and hold Internship/Apprenticeship Workshops and Industry Roundtables. Encourage committee members to participate.
