Session Overview

AI disruption is changing work less through the sudden disappearance of entire jobs than through the redesign of tasks, workflows, decision rights and career pathways. This session moves beyond the headlines to examine where the disruption is already visible: routine work is shifting, AI can expand output and workload at the same time, and automation and augmentation can coexist within the same role.

Participants will leave with a practical leadership lens for deciding what to automate, what to augment, which human capabilities to strengthen, and how to protect independent judgment as AI becomes embedded in everyday work. The format is intentionally interactive, using live polls, chat prompts and short reflection exercises to help participants apply the discussion to their own organizations.

Learning Outcomes

  • Identify how AI is reconfiguring work task by task, even when job titles remain unchanged.

  • Distinguish replacement-oriented automation from human-centered augmentation.

  • Recognize the risks of workload intensification, overreliance on generated anchors and false consensus.

  • Connect AI adoption to skills, rewards, career mobility, learning, wellbeing, recognition and trust.
