Epilepsy Awareness Month
Join Epilepsy Alliance Florida in spreading understanding, hope, and support for the more than 500,000 Floridians living with epilepsy. Together, we can break the stigma, raise awareness, and ensure no one faces epilepsy alone. Wear purple, share your story, and help us shine a light on this important cause.
November is Epilepsy Awareness Month. Show you care. Be Aware.
Know the Signs of a Seizure:
- Turn the person gently on their side
- Remove hard or sharp objects/glasses
- Use something soft under their head
- Stay calm and stay with the person
- Time the seizure
Remember, never put anything in anyone's mouth or hold a person down when they are having a seizure.

GMCC Celebrates Reopening of Newly Remodeled Burger King Location

Hurricane Relief Effort for Melissa
United Way Miami and the Miami Herald/el Nuevo Herald have activated Operation Helping Hands to provide critical aid to families and communities impacted by Hurricane Melissa. The storm has significantly impacted Jamaica, Cuba, the Bahamas, Haiti and other impact areas in the Caribbean, causing catastrophic flooding, destructive winds, and life-threatening storm surge.
To support and assist affected families with both the immediate relief and long-term recovery needs, please make a donation below to Operation Helping Hands.
100% of funds raised through Operation Helping Hands will be used to purchase critical relief items and services through trusted non-profit organizations working on the ground in affected areas.
